Sorry for the lack of info recently – but we have been pretty busy and have a couple things to announce. First and most importantly:
Comforts will be released January 30th 2009! The release show is at The Union here in Athens (a buzzing dive with paint-spattered walls). Our friends Casual Future will be joining us. If you can’t make it to town, the album will be available on several online outlets including iTunes, Napster, Ruckus, and many more. We are increasingly excited about this record as we wrap up its production, so look out for it at the start of 2009.
All of our shows this quarter went swimmingly, so thanks to everyone we played with and everywhere we went. See you next year.
As we were in studio, we wrote up an ongoing blog. You can read its entirety on our Myspace or published with our friends Speakeasy Magazine here.
We’ve already got some shows set for next year. Three of those are with our friends the Blastronauts and an awesome shoegaze band from Cleveland, The Dreadful Yawns. The shows are January 8th, 9th, and 10th in Athens, Cleveland, and Columbus respectively. Check our shows page for more info.
Jack and I are involved with a full-length film being produced here in Athens, and will be composing portions of the music. The film is an adaptation of Russell Banks’s novel Trailerpark. Exciting. Keep an eye out for print of The Dying Western, and film we composed for earlier this year.
Finally, we’re getting some merch made up in the next couple of weeks, so if you like our band name and like things you can wear (or burn for that matter) – look us up.
All quiet on the Russenorsk front for December as we finish our album. We’ll be out and back at it in January.
Time to go let out Sammy, my baby guinea pig, for some exercise. Too much lettuce for that little girl – watch the ponch.
Love,
Buckets

Thanks to everyone who came out to Lobsterfest tonight!.
Grade School started off the night with a great performance, followed by the always amazing Adam Torres and Nostra Nova. After our performance the High Strung came on and delivered an amazing set. We want to thank everyone who has come out to our shows this year. This will be our last performance before the summer. We will be recording an EP at 3 Elliot studios September 5-7 and then hopefully playing more shows when we return to Athens in the fall.

We are packing up our Clif bars and water sacs to trek the 1.3 miles to 3 Elliot Studio. We figyure we should start the journey now so that we can make it by September 5, the beginning of our sound painting process. When we reach our destination with blistered feet and cracked lips, Josh Antonuccio (engineer for Southeast Engine records, Nostra Nova, Kaslo, to name a few) will listen to us play our songs over and over again, until they sound good on cassette.
Recording from September 5-7, new record to be out in October.
Love,
Tim
